The Table of Contents

Project TOC

A Table of Contents (toc) is required to assemble all the topics which relate to the project and are required to be output to the published content.

The Table of Contents functions as the 'menu' and will be seated at the side or top of the window, depending on the Skin used in the output.

Table of Content style elements are formatted in both the Skin of the output, and the main stylesheet and master page when a proxy is used.

Multiple Tables of Content can be added to a project and must be included in the Target prior to output. Generally, a separate Target will be created for each Table of Contents

The main root structure of the Table of Contents is referred to as a 'book' with sub-indexing being added in the form of items.

Table of Content items can link to topics, bookmarked items within topics, external files, or a website URL.

Items are moved around the Table of Contents by dragging and dropping, or indenting or outdenting the items. Indenting or outdenting the items restructures the hierarchy of the Table of Contents.

A sample of the Table of Contents used in this training guide is shown below.
